We will meet in the main square, Mino di Fiesole, and start an easy walk towards to Monte Ceceri.
We will pass magnificent Villas from the ‘800 and secret places for wonderful views over Florence and its surroundings. Monte Ceceri was important for the pietra serena quarry and we will visit some of those. Passing through a silent forest we will climb easily on top which would have been the place from where Leonardo Da Vinci in 1506 would have tested one of his flying machines “il grande Nibbio”.
Going downhills and then again streight uphills we will reach the Convento & Church dedicated to San Francesco where we can once again admire a beautiful view over Florence and surroundings with great sunsets.
We will have time for a visit of the cell of San Bernardino di Siena and the church and we will get back to the meeting point
This experience is an half day tour and we suggest to choose the evening to have, with a little luck, the sunset “included” 😉
We can easily add also a picnic in our friend’s Agriturismo and the experience can be extended.
